2019 Ottawa -Gatineau Myeloma Walk-–Sunday, September 22nd
The 2019 Ottawa-Gatineau Myeloma Walk-Steps to a Cure is being held on Sunday, September 22nd at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, Britannia Beach, Ottawa.
Registration opens at 12:00 and the Walk will take place from 1:00- 3:00 PM.
The purpose of the Walk is to bring the Ottawa-Gatineau Myeloma community together, create broader awareness of the disease and, perhaps most importantly, raise funds for Myeloma research.
Our fundraising goal this year is $80,000. Half of the funds raised will support the work of the National Myeloma Research Network and half will support CAR-T cell research for myeloma patients currently being undertaken by Dr. McCurdy and Dr. Kekre’s group at the Ottawa General Hospital. Both will directly benefit us all! And we need your support.
With your help we can do it! Pull a team together of family and friends, register on the Myeloma Canada March site or simply make a contribution to the Ottawa –Gatineau Walk- Steps to a Cure site (www.stepstoacure.ca). It all counts!
And join us on September 22nd for the Walk. It will be fun! You can walk 1-5 km along a beautiful riverside trail or simply enjoy music, refreshment and conversation in the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
