Steps To A Cure – The Ottawa-Gatineau Myeloma Walk
In spite of the uncertainty and challenges associated with the COVID pandemic, last
year’s Steps to a Cure Virtual Walk was a great success.
At the outset, we were unsure whether we would get good publicity and participation, and whether we would be competing with other deserving charities for funds to support our research goals.
Thanks to everyone’s efforts we surpassed expectations on all fronts. Myeloma
Canada have a team (Pickering Communications) who promote all the Walk events
(including ours) and this year as a result of their efforts, Glenn was interviewed both
on local newspaper and CTV News – watch the video link at

march-from-raising-over-60-000-1.5112675 .
And thanks to everyone’s participation we raised over $70,000.
Normally although half of the funds we raise support the work of Myeloma Canada, this year Martine Elias from Myeloma Canada agreed to support an additional research project. Over $65,000 came back to help support Myeloma research in Ottawa. See
